I had always wanted to identify plants and ‘Slice of the day‘ is an attempt to help me learn this art.
The information published in this blog has been complied from various resources, which are duly credited in each post. The photographs used in this blog are copyrighted by their respective owners. None of the photos in this blog is used for commercial purpose.

- Plants for a future - Plants for a future is an exhaustive resource centre for rare and unusual plants, particularly those which have edible, medicinal or other uses.
- Dave’s Garden - Botanical Dictionary - Another excellent resource for gardeners. The botanical dictionary is specially valuable for pronunciation and meaning of botanical names.
- Integrated Taxonomic Information System - This site provides authoritative taxonomic information on plants, animals, fungi, and microbes of North America and the world.
- IUCN Red List of Threatened Species - A searchable database of threatened species maintained by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN).
- Botany Photo of the Day - Yet another great resource of plants from around the world. The site is managed by UBC Botanical Garden and Centre for Plant Research.
- K. U. Leuven Campus Kortrijk : Plant Guide - An excellent image resource for plant identification, with lots and lots of pictures.
- Orchid Species Photography - An excellent collection of orchid photographs by Mr. Eric Hunt.
